Men an Tol: The Inspiration behind our ancient stone inspired silver jewellery.

Some places just stay with you. And whilst living in Cornwall, for us, Men-an-Tol was one of them.
We first came across these ancient stones on a windswept walk through the Cornish moors — the kind of walk where the sky can’t decide if it’s going to gift you sunshine or rain. And there it was: three ancient stones, one perfectly round, standing quietly in the wilderness. Men-an-Tol — the “stone with a hole.”
Something about it felt deeply familiar. Like the stones weren’t just standing there, but watching, remembering. We left with muddy boots, and the seed of an idea that would grow into a small collection of silver jewellery.
There's something deeply symbolic about a circle in stone. At Men-an-Tol, that central holed stone has been a source of healing and folklore for centuries. People once crawled through it to ease pain, to bring good fortune, or even to protect themselves from bad luck.
That idea — of protection, of passage, of quiet power — is what we've tried to carry into the pieces of silver jewellery inspired by the site.
We wanted each piece to feel connected to the form and textures of Men-an-Tol .
You’ll find simple, hand-forged rings that echo the circular stone. Textured necklaces and bracelets that catch the light like granite catching rain. And soft organic shapes that feel like they’ve been shaped by wind, time, and touch.
This isn’t polished, high-shine silver — it’s silver jewellery that tells a story. Silver jewellery that feels like it’s come from the earth, not just a studio. Pieces that have a sense of history to them.
We created the Men-an-Tol collection whilst living in Penwith, a stones throw (excuse the pun) from the ancient site itself. No mass production. Just small batches of silver jewellery, made slowly and carefully by hand.
Whether you’ve visited Men-an-Tol, dreamed of walking the Cornish moors, or simply love the meaning behind the circle, this is silver jewellery with a connection to our ancestors, and the rituals and folklore of another time. Another world.
Our Men an Tol Silver Jewellery collection is available now to browse on our website.
