Facilities at Silver Sapling Campsite

Equipped Sites

The two equipped campsites have a range of facilities available to help make sure your camp is well supported. Each campsite has a large communal room that contains pots pans, bowls, water containers, seats, benches, tables and Burco boilers for hot water. At each end of the hut is a wash room and toilets.The extension and the end of the hut contains two showers and a drying room with a fridge freezer that is shared between the two camps. Drinking and washing up water is supplied from the two stand pipes that are located against the stone wall opposite the hut.

Unequipped Site

The unequipped site simply has a single stand pipe located at the top of Helen's field opposite the old stone barn. A facility for emptying chemical toilets is also located in this area. The unequipped site is aimed at groups that enjoy camping in the traditional sense. Therefore the only facilities supplied is the field and water, tents, chemical toilets, and any other equipment are the responsibility of the group hiring the camp.

Campfire Circle

Located at the top of the field is the campfire circle, located in the trees overlooking the whole site the campfire circle is a beautiful place to sing songs, share stories and toast marshmallows around the warmth of the camp fire.

Waste & Recycling

A bin is provided on the car park at the main entrance to the campsite. Recycling facilities are not provided although a compost bin is located by the activity equipment sheds. We respectfully ask that tins, glass, plastics are recycled offsite. The nearest recycling center is located south just before Carnforth on the A6 just after Junction 35 of the M6 motorway.
